About Us

Hidden Trail resort was established over 60 years ago by a family from Manitoba and started off with just a few lakefront cabins.  The camp has changed hands a few times since then, and each owner made changes, but through it all the same warm, friendly hospitable environment is alive and well today!  The resort still has the lakefront cabins for rent, but is now also home to 20 seasonal trailer sites.  Some of our campers have been coming for decades…their home away from home!

We became the proud owners of this camp in 2016 after spending summers here since 2001 with our two young boys.  Those two boys are now married with children, and bringing their little ones out to enjoy the lake and all it has to offer.

For our guests, we have a cozy little “boathouse” with tables and chairs which has windows all around offering a great view of the lake.  We have lots of books to read, games to play and it’s a great place to get together.  Bring a few good books for the little library, and feel free to take a few home!

From the dock, we have two great swimming ladders, one designed to make it easier for some of us seniors to get back out of the water!  The water here is beautifully clear, and a swim or a float is the perfect activity on a hot day.   Alongside the boathouse is a deck with loungers to stretch out and enjoy the sun, read a book or have a catnap after a morning of fishing!

We have a fully stocked fish-cleaning house equipped with running water, packaging paper, filleting knives, etc.

Arguably, Black Sturgeon Lake offers some of the best fishing in the area!  Whether you like the challenge of Bass fishing, or prefer the tasty Walleye, there are a wide variety of species and plenty of good fishing.  In addition, there’s lots of room for wakeboarding, tubing and waterskiing out in the open waters, or just a cruise around the lake to do some sightseeing.

A few minutes by car or boat, Beauty Bay Golf Course offers 18-hole golfing on a stunning golf course! 

Downtown Kenora is a short drive (15 to 20 minutes).   There are lots of unique shops to discover, as well as plenty of necessities like grocery stores, pharmacies, and bait shops to name only a few.
